Colinite and NXT

Hello all,



Has anyone ever used colinite 845 and Megs NXT 2.0?



My question is should I put the 845 on first or should it go over the NXT?



I have only used the NXT once and was impressed with its shine with only one coat but I am looking for longevity as well through the winter.

You should stick with 845 if winter just your concern. 845 is really easy to use and has a super crisp, nice bright look to it and its durability is already great. Plus technically NXT are sealants so they should go under it BUT the durability with NXT 1 and 2 were never all that great with others here so that would ultimately compromise the 845.
 
I heard that NXT has some mild cleaners in it. So putting that on top of 845 would defeat the purpose.



If you wanted to do NXT first, then maybe you can get away with it. BUT people say that NXT has longevity issues (3-4 weeks) and remember youre putting 845 on top of that. So basically, NXT or nothing.
 
I have used 845IW over NXT several times. It works well, NXT tends to darken/deepen the paint where 845IW only adds gloss, so its a good combo. For maxiumum life out of 845IW you'd want to let the NXT set for 12 hours and wipedown or wash it again to get rid of the oils left behind.

this is an important step!
 
i use both all the time. 845 on my DD with nothing else. NXT 2 on the garage queens with nothing else. two completely different products. i have but find no need to mix/layer the two. FWIW, :xyxthumbs



i have been using 845 since 1973 ;).
 
I do this routinely every winter season. I apply NXT 2.0 (x2) and top with a carnauba (usually #16) to get a little extra durability. The daily driver needs to run for 5 months before it will get another detail and this combo works. Our winters are cold and messy, with tons of salt and sand used on the roads. I run the car through touchfree tunnel washes all winter long and come April there is still beading and some slickness apparent. It certainly won't reduce the durability so why not?
