Cobra pics/Need pc help!

Hey all,

Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon and evening cleaning up my ride. I finally got to use some new products, especially my porter cable 7336sp. Procedure:

Washed twice with platinum

Clayed

SSR2 with yellow pad

PwC with white pad

I had the pc set to about 4.5 for the ssr2 and pwc, should I have set it higher? Maybe a little lower? I used a back and forth motion with little pressure and moved it around. Did small sections at a time, maybe I used too much product?

I've learned a lot from this site, and love the advice and knowledge I've learned in the past year. Car looks good from a distance, but then I noticed horrid buffer swirls and remaining swirls. I'm thinking about attacking this with some DACP, think it will help? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks and take care.

Now for the horror pics...

in the last pick, it looks almost like your back and forth motion was a little too fast, and that the PC was not flush with the surface of the vehicle. I think those buffer marks can be removed with Meguiar's #83, followed by #82, and then #9. 4.5 should be fine for product application though. Hope this helps

Wow, i didnt know a PC could do that....yea, hit it with some 83 and 82, well try 82 first.....no need for #9, 82 is the same abrasive level as it....kinda repetitive.....post some pics when you fix it!

That first shot makes the car look like all that and a bag and chips! :xyxthumbs

I'll go out on a limb and say that *maybe* those swirls were not induced by your good self and they were there already?? If ya DACP and polishing pad at 5 or higher doesn't work, then maybe you need to employ the services of someone with a rotary?? :nixweiss

I'm not too familiar with the SSR products but maybe the SSR2 wasn't worked in for long enough or the cutting pad has left those remaining swirls.

I'd go back over the areas with SSR2 on a polishing pad before trying anything else.

Nice car BTW. :xyxthumbs

Thanks guys, I rerally appreciate all your help and responses. I'll keep this stuff in mind. I'll try working the ssr2 in a bit more with slower motions. If that doesn't work, I'll try some DACP. Any other ideas?

1 clean ws6, love the car man. A friend of mine also has a silver 2000 ws6, he has heads/cam/gears/longtubes,etc.. What's done to yours?
