Coating for blue plastic engine covers?

Hello all

I own a 2006 Volvo S60R, anyone who knows them know of their blue engine covers. One thing that bugs me bad is how plain they look while everything else is glossy.

What coating would shine them up and withstand ~250°?

I tried CQuartz Dlux coating but I noticed you really gotta lather that down like a clearcoat or else it streaks bad but I do have it on all the trims outside.

Gyeon trim may add some gloss. I don`t think you`ll find a glossy coating. You may have just go with one of those slime in a can dressings?
 
Im confused, are those 2 different engines or is it a before and after of your engine showing the new shiny stuff you speak of? Cause that first engine bay doesnt have many "glossy" items that make the engine cover look dull. IMO
 
I don`t know from coatings, but if a *sealant* would be OK I`d try something like my Ultima TTG+. Clean with GG Rubber Prep, seal with UTTG+, maintain primarily with rinseless wash at QD-strength, redo as needed. Works OK underhood on my vehicles.

Second pic puts it in perspective along with showing how dull the blue looks in brighter light.

I also got a really glossy CF intake over to go in front of these blue covers which further exemplifies how dull the blue covers are
 
While I was GG Rubber Prep/UTTG+-ing the covers I`d also do those hoses/caps/wires/etc. I wouldn`t expect the cover to match the gloss of the carbon fiber bits, but to rather provide a contrast, with a "rich" look rather than a high-gloss one. Eh, that`s just me....

I know painting/dipping woukd be the best route but I have too much going on with the rest of the car to get that setup. I`d rather a coating/creme whatever I can put ontop to help it a bit
