Coated wheels???!!!

How can you tell if a wheel is coated, or clearcoated, or uncoated? The reason i ask is because i want to buy some poorboy's Spray and Rinse wheel cleaner and I don't want the stuff to damage the wheels.

what kind of wheels do you have? factory? aftermarket?

basically all you have to do is rub some polish on them..if the applicator turns black and keeps getting more black on it the more you rub, then they are uncoated and you don't use Spray & Rinse on them ..only soap and water ..if you rub them with a polish and all you get is dirt and they get cleaner & shinier then they are coated or painted (clearcoated)

That's probably a dumb post but i was jw because everyone says you can never be too careful with acid based wheel cleaners. I've heard nothing but good things about the product but some people say stick to non acid wheel gels. Thanks for the info!

that really depends on the condition of the wheels, and how hard they are to maintain ...a well maintained wheel that has a protectant like wheel sealant and doesn't have a lot of hard to reach places, should never need a strong product, but some wheels are not well maintained and have hard to reach areas like some BMW wheels, and for them this product makes their life much easier :)

I could not agree more. If you have really dirty filthy wheels PB Spray & Rinse is the answer and just can't be beat. But once you get those bad boys cleaned up, you slap on the PB sealant and then you just need soap and water! I was skeptical of wheel sealant but after using PB Wheel Sealant for a couple of months now it is amazing!
