Cmw....beading ???

Do you all get beading water from this ? I did a VM , RMG and 1x of CMW and it beaded after the first car wash ( touchless) and the second time it sheeted like all of it was gone , not slick either.

When I have used it, I have always had water bead. The beads we not tiny and close togather like Megs #16 or Collinite 476s, but rather large and farther apart like Megs #26. Some have indicated that the soap used at commercial car washes is quite strong and can remove wax. I have not tried it myself to see, but if this is true, it could explain why your finish is acting like thier is no wax on it.

I have heard that too , about the soap which I'm sure is true. When I used FK1000p the stuff beaded like crazy for months. Seems my #26 beads and holds up very well.

I have really hard water ( well) here and I usually go to the touchless wash come home and wipe down with FK146. As far as removing product I wax and try different stuff so often that its not a huge factory. The only thing I left on for a long time was the 4 coats of 1000P because it looked so awesome for a long time.

I also get a much deeper shine from the Megs #26 than I do from the CMW. I'm trying to go with liquids instead of paste waxes because I'm getting old.....lol and sore back problems.

I have had mixed feelings about CMW. I thought it looked good, but not great. Then I read that applying it with a pc made a differance in how it looked. So I tried this last week, and in my eyes it it made a differance. To me it seems like the car has a deeper, wetter shine. My wife looked at it and said, It looks like black oil, thats the first time she ever said that. I think I will keep using it with the pc.

Really? I absolutely love CMW...I have done it both by hand and by PC and I think it has a very wet look to it.

I feel that the CMW has benefited from the DA-application for me too. It is a bit reluctant to spread well by hand and nothing special with one layer. However, 3 coats by DA and it looks great and wet.

It doesn't have the greatest beading, and I noticed one night that my CMW'd panels were foggy when the other were clear. Maybe it is sensitive to paint permeability just like FK1 2180...

CMW is not one of the carnauba wax that beads well and if you are looking for a water beading wax than CMW is not the right choice. HOWEVER, if that deep wet look is your priority, than you will never go wrong with CMW.

Wait until it rains, I bet the beading returns.

One problem could be that the touchless car wash isn't completely rinsing the soap off the car, leaving a thin layer of soap over your finish.

+1 on the application

I started applying it by hand to the MB I did last weekend but after a single panel I decided to apply it via PC. It went on and came off much easier, more uniform. It was my first time using it and I love the results it gave me.
