CMA Pads

Hi everyone!

This is my first post :)

I have been reading the forum for the last 2 months and decided it was time to post a question.

Are there any major differences and advantages/disadvantages between the pads available from CMA http://www.properautocare.com, i.e.

6 inch Standard pads

7 1/2 inch Advanced Foam Pads

Which pads do people prefer to use and why?

The reason I am asking is that I want to order some pads from CMA but living in Australia the shipping costs (To Australia from the USA) are not cheap. Therefore I need to choose carefully what I want.

Also how many pads should I get as I don't want to be ordering pads every few months due to the shipping costs?

How long do the pads last?

I have already bought a Porter Cable 7424 from Costal Tools.

Now I just have to buy a transformer as Australia uses 240V electricity

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

There are more pads than that even to choose from. Pads are kind of like tires... It just depends on what you are going to do with them. Snow tires are great, but probably not much use in the summer time. Likewise, the polishing pad is great, but not if you have 5 years of oxidation you are trying to remove.

I believe that CMA has a really good bundle of a sample of their pads. That may be what you want to get. Since they are hard to get in your neck of the woods you might just want to get one of each and then use them when they are needed.
