I am in the market to purchase some pads for my PC soon. I have to decide between orderin the CMA pad kit, or purchasing the meguiar's pads from a local store. Are there any pros or cons between the two. Is one brands cutting pad more hash than the other, etc? I have previously used the CMA pads, but am wundering weather or no to try the Meguiar's since I can get them locally.

Nothing wrong with the Meguiar's pads they work pretty well, give them a try.:up You should also try the 3M pads, they are the best.

will the 3M waffle pad and such work well on a PC for swirl removing?

For light swirling they will work very well, they also work very well for fine finish polishing before waxing or sealing.:up

My 96 minivan needs some additional work. At what speed should I set my PC to start the process.

I buy my 3M pads at my local auto body supplie shop, 3M does make a 6" waffle pad for DA polishers. I just looked at Motorhead.net and they don't have the small pads.

Buldog start the PC at 3 or 3.5 ues firm even pressure, as you polishing up the speed to 5 or 6 at this time start using less pressure, when the polish gets hazey stop polishing and remove the haze with a good cotton or MF towel.

Hope this helps. :)

My local W-M had some 3m waffle pads but they were 5 and something size. Other W-M's may carry some different sizes. They were with the power tools!
