Climbing Schiehallion - Allie's First Munro - Pictures

One of Scotland's most famous mountains, and an ideal first climb for those keen on climbing Munros: Schiehallion :) 1083m, it isn't a technical climb or particularly long so it was a good start for Allie's experiences climbing Munros. Pretty impressive really, Allie has a heart condition so climbing a Munro I reckon is pretty impressive stuff, but maybe I would say that, I am biased! :)

Anyways, setting off from Braes of Foss Car Park, Allie seemed very excited about the climb and had definitely identified the mountain...

Approaching the top, the path vanishes to be replaced with a boulder field...

Then, time for an evil trick :D Looking ahead, what looks like the summit, Allie was excited, it was well within reach:

Only when you reach this bit, you see where the true summit is! Allie was less than amused by that, but took it in good spirit (she puts up with a lot!)

Wow, that's some climb. How long did it take in total ? I imagine the majority of a day ?

Dave KG- Looks like the two of you had a great time! Great weather you had, huh? I too was wondering how long it took...

First Applecross and now this, two sunny days in Scotland, in about a month. Wow.

What beautiful scenery, looks like tons of fun.

Keep us posted on the next adventure.

We do get some sunshine :p lol!

In total, it took 2.5 hours to climb and then 2 hours to come back down again and we spent a good half hour enjoying the view and eating lunch at the summit :)

That's actually not THAT long of a hike. In all honesty, I would expected it to have taken longer.
