Clearkote VHMG & Pink Moose???

Used RMG for the first time this afternoon and VERY impressed. Applied on a 3M blue pad by rotary at 900rpm (in full sun) and it gave a gorgeous slightly darkening effect to the very pale primrose Yellow, very slick feel and was soooo easy to use :D The car is a restored '69 model (my avatar) and even after correcting it, the bonnet had a few slight imperfections, and I was VERY happily surprised how well they disappeared after the RMG :)

I have YMW already but stupidly got carried away and waxed over the RMG before I remembered to use it :wall, but what might I gain with VHMG or perhaps mixing them to give the world famous Pink Moose, for future use on this or other cars?

Also, could I use YMW over the Glasur I just applied, and then wax over it again for added protection?

many thanks - thinking these might become significant players in my detailing team...

Hello!

I saw this earlier and i see you dont have many replies, what is VHMG? Do you Vanilia Moose Hand Glaze (VM)?

Im glad you love RMG, i do too and by machine you can acutally get some cleaning action and i think it allows for polishing of the paintwork without abbrasives ie. the pad does work.

IMO Pink Moose gives you a slighly deeper finish.

By hand VM will acutally help to fill better then RMG, it also contains abbrasive content to refine the edges of imperfections.

With regard YMW, im not a fan of placing tradional glazes over waxes, after all most of the oil content gets wiped away. It cannot get in the pores of your paintwork.

Again, IMO i think YMW is likely to mute the content of Glasur abit. Although you are working on an intreasting colour paintwork on a non metalic. I think your going to have to try and tell us!

thanks Geoff - well went ahead and put on some YMW today, after leaving the Glasur over night. In he garage under fluorescents I honestly didnt see a difference, but then topped it with CMW for the hell of it for protection - and to try out a sample of CMW I was given :D

still raining hard so its staying in the garage until the weekend, when I'll have another look. This is a really TOUGH colour to get much impact on. I hope a layer of OS over the weekend once the wax is cured, will add some extra reflectivity and gloss, as it did last time, and also make it bead and sheet very nicely for the forthcoming summer weather ;)
