ClearKote - RMG - Red Machine Glaze

Well ive been hearing about RMG for a while now. Mostly from Scottwax. Has anyone else tried it so far? Well I thought I should mention that I saw it for sale on Excel Detail for those who want to get it first. I find it odd sine it isnt even listed on the official site yet...



And for those who have used it... do you think its going to be a replacement for VM? or just another product to use? And is it sun safe?
 
RMG is definitely different then VM. It is a thicker product, has much less oil at the top when it seperates (which also takes a while) and contains no abrasives. To me, it gives a deeper glow than VM does. It does have some cleaning properties (chemical) and with a polishing pad it will remove light defects (emphasis on light). Everett uses a rotary, so his comments about what defects it can tackle are probably rotary dependent. With a PC, it isn't particularly aggressive. Maybe a touch more than AIO.



I've used it on the Rolls topped with #16 and on my own car topped with Carnauba Moose. Either combo has a very rich appearance. Works great after Meguiars #80, seems to add to the wet depth you get with #80.



RMG is as slick as VM but doesn't contain wax like VM.



Right now, RMG is my go to glaze on dark paints.
 
Damn, around a year ago when I first joined Autopia Clearkote VM was the "product to have". I wonder if Clearkote has another winner. RMG sounds like an interesting product, I think i'll see what others have to say about it or try some out through a sample exchange. Seems like this glaze is a good step prior to a carnuaba topper.



I find the Clearkote site to be somewhat vague and outdated.
 
I have only about 1/3rd of a bottle left. I sent a sample to MartyGrant, so maybe he'll have some comments by early next week. That also means what I have left, I am keeping until I order a few more bottles. ;)
 
so is it ok to use on windows, moldings etc? Did you notice any difference when leaving it on for a while, was it hard to take off or put on?

I haven't used it on glass or plastic although the sheet I got said it could be used on plastic surfaces.



It is easy to apply (via PC) and remove, if you use too much, you may get a random dark streak or two, a little QD takes care of it.



I've been applying it at a speed of 5 for 2-3 passes at a moderate pace, then crank it up to 6 and go real slow and like #80, it clears. I do about 1/4th of the car at a time, then go back and remove.
 
I got my Red Moose Machine Glaze in the mail today. I'm hoping to get a new car tomorrow, if so, I will use it on wednesday!:D

Thanks for the review again Scott. I have a white Navigator and a black Mustang and prefer to only use one system for both. I've been currently using #80 and then VM, topped with EX P on both and have liked the results. If you had a choice of one glaze for both colors, would you choose the new Red Glaze or VM? I'm probably going to switch over to UPP or possibly the new EX P+ as a topper once I get a sample to try of the EX P+. I definitely like the UPP. Thanks for your input.:D

Since you have a black vehicle, I'd go with RMG.



RMG + CMW does look pretty good on white:
