Clearkote issues.....

I know I'll get flamed for this , but I really don't see the attraction to their products.

I just ordered more fresh stuff , and still nothing comes close to impressive. I have VM , CMW , RMG , RVL , MW , QS. ( QS is ok , nothing overly special)

Just not getting it , I get stuff looking better deeper & wetter with better durability with Megs MG stuff.

I'll give the CK stuff a try again , but there must be a trick I don't know about......lol

Yah I used to use CK QS, tried a few different QD's, but have ended up using DP Final Gloss...I wasn't that impressed with CK QS. I am on the otherhand really loving the RMG!

I have CMW, RMG, and QS.

QS is my QD of choice.

I tried CMW upon Scott's recommendation and was completely blown away by it's deep, deep, reflections and clarity on bright red. So much so, that I even prefer it over my Natty's Blue!

I have VM, RMG, YM and moose wax (cleaner wax) and qs

Quick shine to me is great while doing multi step machine polishing to remove the residue after each step and mixed with DP final gloss booster makes a killer glass cleaner-polish and is fine on tint

VM is magnificent by machine and brings clarity and color richness to the highest level

RMG adds more wetness

Yellow moose is only for use by hand as it holograms by machine.

Just work VM in by machine at 600 to 1100 rpm until it dissappears

GOLD

Im not new to this detailing ( almost 30 years under my belt) but am trying to get deep and wet , and it's just not happening. My last try on my Metallic gray 4R was the following.

VM followed by RMG followed by CMW. Should I be doing it in different order ?

Maybe I'm expecting to much , I will retry it.

Honestly, on metallic grey, you might be happier with Werkstatt products. Where VM/RMG/CMW really excel is on medium to dark solid colors and for some reason, light metallics. More neutral colors, like tans, silvers and greys, I like Werkstatt or Opti-Seal.

How does the Opti-seal compare to AW product ? The AW has really impressed the crap out of me for the money . Will the OCW help with a deeper wet look & durability. I'd be more wanting to lean to DG or Opt. stuff.

As far as Werkstatt products , I'm sure its great and have heard great stuff , but still don't want to spend money right now on more products.

send them to me - I'll pay for shipping.

I recently got the ClearKote lineup, after being a long-time Poorboy's user. I've came to these conclusions:

- Compound Moose is way too thick and dries out way too fast. SSR 2.5/3 are much more user friendly.

- VM/RMG (pink moose) is amazing after SSR1, really boosts clarity. I too like using VM on trim.

- Overall, I think Natty's beats out CMW in terms of looks. Natty's is just dripping wet on my black/red Explorer. CMW is very clear and deep, but not "wet" to me. It does help the flake pop a bit, though.

I'm going to restock my Poorboy's stuff and try some new combos (RMG/Natty's) and see what I think.

Oh, QS is awesome.

CMW looks great on white

RMG does wonders for dark/rich colors, especially red. I can really tell a difference on my Redfire Cobra and Torch Red F150.

VM is ok, only used it on white, seemed to add a touch of clarity/wetness when followed w/CMW.

Only thing I can say is that all their products are really easy to use. RMG smells like a rotting squirrel or something though; I hate that.

:rofl

Yeah, that stuff definitely wreaks, but damn it works good!!! The first time I used it I damn near ralphed from the stench of it, it really bothered my stomach.

VM isn't much better...:nomore: sniffing.
When's the last time you ordered it? I just ordered some direct and I expected the solvent smelling stuff I got before

but I was pleasantly suprised when I popped the top and it actually smelled like vanilla:woot:
