Clearkote CMW

Well I was wrong about CK CMW. After email to Bence and speaking with Everett. I decided to try a different approach. Everett told me his stuff usually doesn't play with with others especially polymer synth stuff. I originally tried RMG followed by 2 coats of CMW and the metallic in my paint was really muted. So I moved on the FK since AG now carries it. I used RMG then 1000P ,bence had said wait a day see. I did and he was right it looked great but still missing that wettness of CMW, I then topped with PW and it was even wetter still not like CMW. I then thought I will wash clay then RMG then CMW to see if it made a difference since both bence and Everett said the metallic should be expolding not muted. They were right I may have had too much of something else or topped systh stuff which helped mute the flakes. I have to say that the flakes are now expolding out of the paint especially after QS.

Then I started think what sysn stuff did I use that my have caused this? I use ONR all the time so yesterday I tried using QS as I would ONR and it worked great only thing the MF sponge didn't glide as easy as when I used ONR. I made sure to go slowly as not to create any surface marring. I have also used Z6 and Z8 this way with great success. I wonder if the ONR is not playing well with the CK stuff?

Also I have to say that QS is a great QD. When I drive my car to work usually the next day I wipe it down with a QD Z6 always was geat ,but 425 left some slight marring and attracted dust. QS on the other hand left no marring ,no dust build up and no streaking.

That's an interesting observation.

I thought FK-425 was renowned for dust repulsion, not attraction.

I mostly use Carnauba Moose on my metallic grey lustre Maxima and wash with ONR and I haven't noticed any incompatibility. I wonder if there is something else that might be an issue?

I agree with you about QS, really top notch QD. I ran across it at a ricer "performance" store at a local mall several years ago and was blown away by how good it was. Used it ever since. :)

Not sure what could have caused this. I thought using RMG would strip what was underneath. I was worried about using ONR ,hopefully its not that since I use it all the time. I am glad I clayed and got everything off.

I am now going to RMG then YMW the CMW and see how that comes out.

Dang Dogma, is there any product out there you haven't used? LOL Ive got some CMW Im wanting to try on my new Accord (Burgandy Metallic).

Definately try it. Get the RMG if haven't already.

You have no Idea how much stuff I bought this year. Most will be tried once or twice then put in my cabinet. Luckily I traded some stuff this year. Like the FK stuff it's great stuff ( bought a lot too )but I probably won't use it again.
