Clearing snow off car?

With all this snow we're getting in CT it crossed my mind ... what do you guys use to brush snow off your car windows and paint? Those dangerously stiff snow brushes? Lightly with a gloved hand/sleeve? Just clear the windows and drive?(dangerous to do when there's any real volume of snow)

Had to clear off 1 foot of snow off the car today haha.

I use the stiff brush and simply try to never touch the paint. If a lot of snow accumulates on the car, I clean it off until there's an inch or so on the paint, then just clean off the windows and go. Since I don't care too much about my current car (bought it late last year and plan on polishing early in spring) I'm usually not too anal this winter, but generally the above works well for me. Once I polish the car I plan to stick to the routine of leaving some snow on the car.

Other option is to use a soft brush, something like those boars hair brushes used for washing. Never tried it but I heard it works well as it won't swirl up the paint nearly as much as the stiff brush would.

wrap a MF towel around the brush and it will help.

Yep; that's what I do. The only problem is that the wetness/snow causes the MF to freeze after sitting in your car after a few hours.

Noting that I generally don't let my vehicles get too snow covered these days...

I use a boar's hair snowbrush on the windows (and only the windows) when I really need to, but I usually just let the vehicle idle until it melts.

I'll use a Sno Brum (I think that's how they spell it  ) on service loaners/rentals, but even on those I try to leave a 1/2" or so of snow on the paint so I'm not rubbing the dirty snow against the paint and causing marring. Sorta the same idea as the MF, you don't want to try to get *all* the snow off. I did stuff like that pre-retirement, when I had to park outside and it worked sorta-OK, well enough for the winter vehicles that I'd park outside in the first place.

You could use masking tape to hold the MF on a brush...the adhesive oughta come off pretty cleanly.

I use a stiff brush and try not to get down to the paint surface. It's hard though, and at -30 and -40 degrees, you start not caring much even if you do hit the paint.

My boss just paid a neighbor $20 to do his. It would be easier with a friend and you'd get the driveways done in half the time! You'd have to split the $ though. If you did 10,that would be $200.
