Clearcoat question

Hey guys, I have done plenty of touch ups on scratches and chips, but never had a client with the clearcoat peeled off in a larger area.



Its a 95 Mustang Cobra, black, and it is missing clearcoat in an oval shape... maybe 6 inches by 4 inches.

Would I just add clear to that area as I would with touch up paint in a small area?



Wetsand, and polish?



Or does he need a respray?

From the pic looks like he will need a respray. I cn see a lot more clear coat failure than just the area that has failed.
