Clear Coat Wheels

Has anyone had any luck with stained clear coat wheels. In the finish, it looks as if it's dirt streak, but it will not wipe off. I have tried some mild cleaner but no go. I assume it is from car wash wheel cleaner. Any ideas??? (besides respraying them)
 
Is the stain on top of the clear? Or is the actual clear discolored? If it's on top of the clear, then try a polish and see if it will remove it. Maybe try clay? If the actual clear is stained, I'm not sure what can be done.



I had the clear on some rims with stained yellow drip marks, probably from some dressing that got left on there. Never got that stuff off, wound up living with it till I sold it.

Try a fine polish like a 3M swirl-mark remover or FI2. If the stain is to deep, the only thing you can do is have the wheel refinished.



Do you know what caused the stain, wheel cleaner or tire dressing?
