CLEAR BRA DAMAGE! 06 Honda Civic Hybrid

This is my girls car. We both have the same brand clear bra on our cars. Apparently, she has some scratches on her front bumper. She's the one who detailed her car, and she has her own detailing supplies, and she forward me the pics so I can post them here on Autopia. I swear she did this on her own. :grinno:



It is possible to remove almost 100% of the defects on a clear bra, but it's just a pain, since I too been there done that. I hope you enjoy :waxing:



This was her exact process:

The hood:

Menzerna Final Polish UDM = Orange Pad

Menzerna Finishing Glaze UDM = White Pad

Zaio UDM = White Pad

Z2 UDM = Black Pad

CS = by hand



The bumper:

Menzerna Intensive polish = Microfiber pad by hand



The rest of the car:

Zaio UDM = White Pad

Z2 UDM = Black Pad

CS = By hand



The damage: She used IP and a MF to remove defects.

Now for the afters....

She's an Autopian at heart, but not hardcore like me :usa

We both got our clear bras installed before we purchased our cars. Kit depends on make/model. I paid around $500 for my TL, and I stated many times here. Clear bra is the best car option IMHO.

same here my girl loves to purchase brushes but only for makeup hahaha. one of these days im going to take a few of those mac brushes and use them to clean those hard to reach areas! Oh yea I didnt know you could polish a clear bra? Do you have to go through a different process?

I just use a lease abrasive method and do more steps. Seems to work for me so far.

Sometimes she will get on to me about spending more time in the garage than being with her, but she understands. I'm not crazy like her, when she would wash her car 5am before she goes to class!



I've used IP, Z-PC, 3M rubbing compound, Scratch-X, Z-14, and have great success removing scratches off my clear bra.

do you run slower rpms on the rotary when polishing it out? Or do you just stick with the normal 1200-1500 rpms on a white pad and IP? thanks Oh yea can you wax over it?

I have had similar sucess using my flex and a number of different mild polishes/pads.

Actually it's probably debris she hit on the road. Nothing you can do about that. She's very picky where she parks, and goes to school 2 hours early just to get that one big parking spot in the parking garage.
