Cleansing Lotions, Glazes, and Sealants

Ok. Just when I get comfy I get OCD about what I am doing or thinking. I then think it through to the point where I can't figure out what I was thinking about last and what to do next. Here' what I am currently pondering:

Is it a waist of time to use something like Menzerna Finishing Glaze over Pinnacle Cleansing lotion?

If I use the lotion without the glaze, will I encounter sealant bonding issues?

If some glazes are considered bonding "restrictors" with sealants, why do WG and Menzerna include glazes with their Sealant Packages?

If anyone can help please do...I'm in a mental loop and can't stop thinking about these Q's. I know some glazes don't have fillers, some do...some cleaners just clean, some have a little carny...AHHHHHH! :stuart:

From what I know the pinnacle cleansing lotion is a very final polish and is very light. So i woudl say its a waste of time to use pinnacle cleansing lotion prior to the glaze. A glaze will give you a wetter look and mask some minor defects.

If you use the PCL and then use the sealant you should have no bonding issues. Sometimes glazes causes issues of bonding. Steve (poorboy) always says sealants work best when its applied without a glaze.

I think they just like to ahve a glaze open for someone who likes a wetter look or someone who wants to mask defects. Glazes dont always restrict bonding but will alot of times lessen the durability of the LSP.

Hope that helps

Thanks GC. That helps me. :beer_smil

So i think what I am gathering in my head now is to keep glazes for wax only procedures unless I know for sure they have no oils in them (like Menzerna). And for sealant procedures, go right from my final polish to my Sealant.

I believe that the Menzerna glaze is designed to go under FMJ, it shouldn't negatively affect bonding at all, it may actually make bonding stronger.

Ok. That's what I thought too, since I am pretty sure it has zero oils and fillers. I don't think WG's Finishing Glaze is filler free though. So how does that affect their sealant that they sell with the Swirl_Free Kit? Whatsmore, how would it affect FMJ?

Since the wolfgang line was basically designed aroundthe sealant I would imagine that their finishing glaze would not affect sealant bonding. Then again, it could be formulated to enhance the WG sealant only, you might want to PM Jason@autogeek.net for a more informed answer.
