Cleaning Wheel Tubs

Ok well I am sure that this has been asked many times before but I have not read anything that is specifically related...What is your best solution for cleaning out the inside of the wheels w/o removing? I am pretty familiar with all of the product lines available and I have tried many of em, but I just wanted to see some other opinions and ideas for this task. Especially for vehicles that are equipped with higher end wheels...

WEll i think alot of us here at DC use an APC. Simple Green diluted 1:1 will work but you might want to go more at 2:1. I am not a simple green user. I use Hi Temps APC diluted 10:1 (water:product). I got this at www.topoftheline.com

Before I wash I spray the wells out heavily and the wheels too. Then i just rinse them with the hose. After they dry you can dress with any dressing really.

I understand you are asking about the area behind the spokes on a wheel.
I did use a long handled dish washing brush.

Now I use this and have had great results.

As for wheel wells in case I misunderstood you I use APC and the same dish washing brush.

Hope you find this helpful.

I would usually use a brush like the one above if the surface is smooth. But some wheels have grooves and I found that this scrubber works works really well.

It's a Detailers Choice 'Brake Dust Remover' and it looks like a scotchbrite pad only less abrasive. For normal maintenance on my cars I usually just spray plain water from a bottle and work the scrubber in the direction of the grooves. Works in tight clearances b/w the calipers and rim too!

What about if the inside of your rims have never been washed since the car was new in '02? :eek
I had my wheels off yesterday for rotation, and decided to clean 'em using Spray Nine. Works okay with a nylon brush, but the finish (painted) is very dull, and they just aren't clean enough for my tastes...
Anyone recommend a solution that won't break my arm and get back some of the luster?
