Cleaning up the Clearcoat?

my friend just painted and clearcoated his car

the paint turned out very good

the clearcoat has a HUGE orange peal effect is there anyway to fix this

The noobie asks: what is orange peal?

It's "orange peel", just like the fruit, not "peal".



Do a search or "titles only" search for orange peel, as this paint effect has been discussed quite a bit.

It's the orange peel-like paint texture that results from poor painting at the factory. Harmless, but it doesn't look good.

Ohhhh, so that is what that is! I have a ton of that where the left side of my hood was repainted. At least I know the enemy now. That picture looks exactly like my car does (in spots)
