cleaning the tyre..........

what would be the best product to use on cleaning the tyre prior to using a top sealant. I really want to get all the old surface deposits off and give the tyres a good total clean. Any advise? cheers guys, mark
 
good call rich......i forgot about engine cleaners... gunk and all that..... that will do the trick...ta
 
Autoglym cleaner first, then AG wheel cleaner followed by wash and brush with strong soapy water. The tyres look clean and fresh, rarely use a tyre dressing any more.

still trying to find a nice tyre dressing here, currently using One Grand Do-It-All Protectant, any of you guys use anything better?

Im after a satin look.
 
i have stopeed using AG wheel cleaners, i uswed to use it water down, just use the engine bay cleaner to arches, tryes wheels and brakes now works a treat. the wash wth nice soapy water. and then dress, cant help myself!
 
ive never used AG wheel cleaner on my alloys...... thats stuff is mild acid...... ever got any on your hands? stings like hell if youve got a cut, that stuff could dissolve bodies!
 
I used to use P21S from Wack, great stuff but I have now run out. The AG wheel cleaner is good but I water it down as my wheels dont get really dirty. P21S best stuff so far, Wack sell a nice spray but it is a aerosol.



Mark, have you tried the One Grand Plastic polish instead of DIY, it gives a more matt finish.

steven, no haven't used that....only using the all in one cos it came FOC from frost! not that im a tight git you understand!
 
I use Eagle One's Tire Cleaner with Meguiars Endurance Tire Gell. When I first spray on the cleaner, you can see all the brown stuff come off, then brush and rinse.

I understand :) What do you think of DIY, I like it but it smells terrible.

I've been going through the motions with this one :rolleyes:



I've now tried TW Extreme gel, Megauirs Endurance HG and Meguiars natural spray.



I quite like the endurance stuff tbh :up



Why not try some of the Eagle One Satin tyre dressing?

steven, Do it all seems ok, but i hate the spray it gives, its a really crap bottle...... im gonna strip the tyres first and try again..... started on the car panel by panel.......god its taking ages...the bonnet alone took me 5 hours to get to its current state, but boy does it look good! ive never had a cars bonnet look so slick, truely amazed, still ive put alot of work into it.
