Cleaning oxidized Body Side moldings

I have tried everything on trying to clean very oxidized trim moldings and nothing worked until today.

The body side moldings were on a 1986 Cadillac Seville. The rest of the car shined like a diamond but

cleaning those moldings was a sore spot for me. I tried an experiment today and it worked a miracle.

I wet a Scotch green pad with some Westley's Bleach White and they came out like new. I could not believe my eyes.

After that I put on some Black Again and it was like it was when I bought it brand new. Hope this helps.

Are they metal? If they are plastic or rubber I don't recommend using anything abrasive on them. That will just leave a bunch of fine scratches where dirt can now sit.

The moldings are rubber. There were no scratches after I finished. The Black Again should seal out dirt.
