Cleaning Microfiber.

Use a liquid detergent, bleach free, no fabric softener. Wash in warm or cold water but not HOT.

Wash once like this then rinse a second time. In the rinse cycle put a tsp per towel of white distilled vinegar in.

Either hang dry or dry on low heat.

Forgot to mention, if you have other towels besides Microfiber DO NOT wash them together.

Another thing depends on the color and brand of the MF towels some of them could bleed which will turn your other towels that color.

If you have A LOT to wash then seperate them by color to prevent this. It does not harm them whatsoever but I would like my towels to remain the color they were.

not too worried about towel color. They seem to be all different colors actually ;P. Can i wash the towels with the wax applicators?? and will the dried wax come off the applicators with just puting them in the maching machine w/ liquid detergent? Hopefully it will all come off?

Plus some other microfiber towels. Some I even used to get off some brake dust and are very very dirty. Whats the best way without buying cleaning products off the internet.

Micro fibre (Microfiber) Towel Care:

Always wash towels as soon as possible after use, the longer they sit the more the contaminants will set do not use bleach (bleach will shorten the life of your Microfiber cloths.) Read the label on the detergent bottle and use half of what they recommend and use hot water (120oF). Your towels won't melt and the hot water will better dislodge wax and other particles. If the towel becomes too dirty, it will begin to âہ“streakâ€Â, it is then time to wash the towel. Pre-soak in a liquid detergent / water and then squeeze out wax/polish with your hands and rinse thoroughly.

Micro-Restore is the only detergent properly formulated for maintaining and restoring micro fibre, its a concentrated detergent designed to clean, pamper and extend the life of micro fibre cloths. With all of the polishes, waxes, oils and chemicals that we apply and remove with our micro fibre cloths / towels, regular household detergent doesnâ€â„¢t even come close to cleaning or restoring them

It effectively removes dirt without using the bleaches and softeners commonly found in laundry detergents (even when they say they don't there are small traces). Over time bleach breaks down micro fibres, and fabric softeners clog the microscopic fibres that make it so effective, rendering the micro fibre product less effective with each washing.

This concentrated aqueous formula is a special blend of surfactants, emulsifiers, chelating agents and water softeners. Not only will Micro-Restore extend the life of your micro fibre, but also it's special blend of ingredients has the power to break down all chemicals and heavy residues (wax, oil, grease, break dust, and other chemicals) that become implanted in micro fibre products when used in heavy cleaning situations like car care and remove them. The water softeners in the formula neutralize calcium and magnesium in hard water that cause towels to stiffen over time. Micro-Restore is the ultimate cleaner for micro fibre because it rids them of all products without ruining their structure. Micro-Restore is biodegradable

Directions: Add 1-2 ounces to standard size (8 gallon) load, for larger loads or heavily soiled laundry, add 3-6 ounces. As a pre-spotter: dilute 1 part concentrate with 3 parts water, apply to stain and launder as usual.

Do not use fabric softener (most contain silicone that the towel will adsorb and it will weaken the towels static charge thereby reducing their effectiveness) towel will also treat the fabric softener as if it was dirt by trying to store the tiny particles of the softener in the towel fibres. This will clog up the micro fibres and render the towel ineffective.

Add a teaspoon per towel distilled white vinegar in place of a softener, the vinegar doesn't coat the fibres but instead works to eliminate detergent residue. Do not wash micro fibre cloths / towels with other non- micro fibre fabrics, as they will pick up lint from other fabrics.)

Air dry or you can dry micro fibre cloths / towels in any dryer on low heat, just be sure that the dryer does not dry at temperatures above 235oF as a synthetic Microfiber will melt if heated too high. Colours may bleed during first washing.

MicroRestore works great for me. I've been washing MFs in hot water since they first came out and it's never caused any problems. I've also washed LSP/polish/glass/WW (drying) MFs together and I've never had any cross-contamination problems.

I even use my suede-style MFs for LSP one week and windows the next. No streaking/etc.; everything seems to come out in the wash.

I wash mine in hot water. I don't use bleach as bleach isn't a cleaner it's a disenfectant. Bleach removes the skid marks from your drawers by bleaching out the color. But I use hot water, regular detergent, Lestoil, rinse twice, and blast it on the highest heat setting in the dryer. Mine still work fine. I throw it all in together and the Lestoil gaurantees that all of the chemicals are removed.

Has anyone tried putting the distilled white vinegar into one of those "Downy Balls"? Downy Ball It supposedly opens up to dispense the Downy during the rinse cycle, and since i don't feel like monitoring my washer, I think it might work pretty well....

Yes I have seen a few people do this and work just fine.

I highly recommend the use of vinegar. I noticed a pretty big difference in plushness of my towels from the first wash a few weeks ago.

I have use a combination of products including laundry liquid (with and without white vinegar in the rinse cycle), simple green (about 1 - 2 oz a load) and microrestore.

I found that simple green was okay and I still use it as a spot cleaner (diluted 10:1) on heavily soiled towels before washing. I really like Microrestore but I also get really good results using a quality laundry liquid and white vinegar in the rinse cycle.

If i could buy microrestore or a simmilar product a little cheaper or in bulk I would use it in every load but in the meantime I use it every 2nd or 3rd wash with the laundry liquid / vinegar combo in between. Warm to hot water works best for me as does drying warm in the dryer.
