Cleaner wax before carnauba?

would a Meguiar's cleaner wax layer before putting some carnauba wax do anything? Or should I just use a glaze on the first coat?

It would do some cleaning and that would probably be a good thing since the carnauba wax probably won't.
The reason I said probably is that you can find carnauba cleaner waxes.
You might want to consider Poorboy's PwC that can do it all in one application.

You would be better of with a pre wax cleaner or a light polish. Then the Glaze if you wanted, and then the carnabua. \

what kind of result can I get out of using a glaze? Does it prep the surface? I'm kind of scared using a polish.

Cleaner waxes nor cleaner sealants ( like AIO) will not layer due the solvent content that does the cleaning. They will strip off the layer underneath them. If you are looking strictly for "beauty" and no durability, try "pure" carnuaba based "beauty waxes": P21s, S100, Natty's,Souveran, etc. These could be used over a glaze and spit shined too. In the absence of a sealant though, expect to reapply them regularly. There's no sealant barrier between thepaint once the wax wears off to "buy you more time" before you'll need to reapply the wax.

I'm sorry, I need to specify that I can only buy stuff off the shelf. So in my case I have Meguiar's cleaner wax, NXT wax and Souveran carnauba wax. I'm was wondering if I should even spend money on a glaze product.

BTW my car is about 1 year old.

If it were me, I would focus on a wax over a sealant. If you have Souveran that's great! I do believe a few people have given Souveran over NXT a shot and it looked very nice.

Interesting. Where do you buy Souveran "off the shelf"?
Anyway, having used Meguiar's cleaner wax in the maroon bottle, Meguiar's #6 cleaner wax and Meguiar's #66 cleaner wax in the professional line, and Meguiar's NXT, my suggestion would be the NXT Tech Wax.
If you want to do a two stage process, use Meguiar's ColorX first and follow it with the NXT. Economical, easy to use, looks great, lasts a momth or so for me.

I have used several of the glazes mentioned in this thread and don't use them now. I think that says what I thought of them.
