Cleaned My Engine

Well I borrowed my Grandpa's 2100psi pressure washer and cleaned my engine. I used some Purple Power (non-dilluted) and sprayed it down real good, then i took it and sprayed the crap out of it. It turned out great, but wouldnt start for a few hours, till the distributor dried out. I then sprayed it down with Gunk Brand Tire Dressing (areorsol can) and it really shined it up. I didnt take any before pics, it wasnt really dirty before, but i did take afters.

Nothing like a clean 302 huh? I've driven a couple 4.6 liter cars, and they move out, but I still get kinda sad whenever I think about the fact that Ford doesn't put the 302 in the stang anymore. Nice job on your engine.

Looks real nice, but you might want to rethink the pressure washer the next time.
With all the sensors that are under there, you could force moisture into them, and cause them to fail.

I prefer to let the degreaser break down what might be built up and go after the heavier spots with a tooth brush and some rags, then rinse with a firm stream from the hose. Covering things that might be moisture sensative first.

Looks good, but I would "definitely" re-think the pressure washing... one of these times, one of them "won't" start! :(

haha, i wont pressure wash it again, i just did it to get the heavy stuff, from now on i'll just wipe it down. BTW, 5.0 > 4.6:D

Always cover the dizzy or next time it will sieze on you (or could) that h2o start working it's way down that dizzy and those bearing will rust up real nice. Or worse the PIP stator leaves you on the side of the road.

Very nice work! I agree with the other members to avoid pressure washing. However if at your discretion you use a pressure washer, proceed with caution and keep the nozzle a reasonable distance away from the engine.

I like your ignition setup too. I presume that setup is the MSD Billet Distributor with Jacobs Electronics wires?? Again, job well done,,,,,,98
