On a new car finish I'm looking at Clay Magic or Megs (fine grade) with lub in order to prep my SUV for Klasse AIO and Selant Glaze. Any inputs on clay choices for the beginner????
I just did my brothers Intrepis with clay magic, klasse, and P21S. Looks really nice! I have tried mothers clay and clay magic so far. I like clay magic better but the only complaint I have is the lack of lube they give you. I have not tried meguiars clay so I have no input on that.
I thought clay magic had kits that came with QD? Anyway, clay magic is the same as the 3M. I've used both mothers and 3M. I like the 3M better. It seems to do a better job of cleaning. Though, YMMV.
What claybar (or clay kit) would you guys recommend for someone that has never clayed a car before. I know that one of the Auto Stores around my way sells a Mothers Clay Kit. Would you recommend that...or should I get something from an online supplier?
Buy a gallon of some qd(meguiars final inspection) as your lube. What you do is use 50% qd and 50% distilled water in a bottle when lubing. I honestly think this is a more cost effective/better peformance way of qding as opposed to degrading your claybar with car wash and soap(unfortunately that happened to me, never again ).
I didnt want to post this without talking to Steve @ Tropi-Care but I phoned him this morning and he said it was okay to post it.
Steve is now selling a clay bar (No lube) manufactured by the same people that make the Clay Magic clay. In the past he sold the Clay Magic kit and decided to just sell the bars alone from here on out.
