Claying in Sun?

I have always clayed vehicles in my garage at home, but need advise on claying when outdoors, specifically in full sun. Do you just use QD spray? I'd use soapy water as I prefer it to detailspray but Im sure the streaks would be harder to remove than the streaks from the DS once the sun dried it on the paint.

I searched but couldn't find anything.

I wet the whole car down with water, mist with detail spray for a little extra lube, and if I happen to be working in the sun, I just make sure I rinse after every panel or 2 to keep from streaking.

I haven't had much luck claying in the sun. The clay gets too soft and gets all over my hands. I use a whole lot more detail spray than I would in the shade and it just isn't good.

I have more problems polishing in the sun than claying in the sun. The problem with claying in the sun is that the lube dries up more quickly, but usually if I'm claying I'll be polishing too so dried detail spray or clay lube hasn't been an issue for me.

I clay in the sun all the time. Just as when you do a conventional wash, you need to make sure the surface is well lubricated and often rinsed to avoid water spots.
