Clay smudges

This evening I clayed my headlights and my windshield. Lights turned out very well. However the front windshield looks good but in a couple spots there are some smudges that I can't seem to remove.
Should I re-clay it? Or use a razor blade? I am using stoners glass to clean my windows.
Thanks.

It sounds like you didn't use enough lubrication for the clay. I would reclay the problem areas making sure that there is plenty of lubrication for the clay.

If you spray whatever lube your using on it and hit it with the clay it'll come off, Or just use a razor blade.

Razor blades are dangerous to use--at least more dangerous than clay. Clay is pretty undangerous, and is unlike to slice you or your paint.
Reclay.

I ended up trying to re-clay it and it didnt work all that well. I did use the razor blade and it is perfect now. I cant really tell on the glass though if it is any smoother than before or necessarily clearer like you can feel on the paint.

Glass is much harder than your clear coat. Not likely that anything is going to be embedded in the glass. I have never used a clay bar on glass as I think it is a waste of time. Occasionally I do use Bon-Ami it will remove anything on the glass.

I have seen clay advertised numerous times, what exactly is the advantages to using it? I am an avid detailer and it sounds like I may have been missing the boat? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks
MIKE
