As a first time user of a clay bar I am extremely impressed with Clay Magic's blue bar and their #49 QD spray.



I was a little apprehensive about using clay as I was worried about scratching etc.



Not anymore this product and process is easy to use, just follow the instructions and use plenty of QD as lube. The result is awesome.



I washed the car first then used less than a quarter of the bar and formed it into a round flat patty shape, with plenty of QD on the surface I just rubbed the bar back and forth until I felt all the roughness underneath go away, washed the car again and used P21S SEC and Wax to finish the job.



Great product, very easy to use if you read the instructions and do some reading on this site.:)
 
My only complaint about Claymagic is that the bar is TINY. I just bought the Clearkote bar the other day, am going to give that a try tomorrow :)

2 things about the Clearkote bar:



1. Cut it in half. That is more than big enough to do the job and then you also have a nice clean bar ready when you need a new one.



2. Use a lot of lube, it is a bit stickier than the Clay Magic one. Not as sticky as the Meguiars BSP Overspray bar, but if you don't use enough lube, the bar tends to stick a bit. Vanilla Moose takes off any clay bar residue though.
 
I hate having a small claybar though :(



Thanks for the heads up on the stickiness though - I was planning on using it in about 12 hours, so that's good to know :)
 
I just tried the Clay Magic for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Before that, I had never even heard of claying! It was a lot easier than I expected, and couldn't believe how much junk was still left on my car after 4 washes in 2 days (due to rain & darkness). I will say that the lube type makes a huge difference-at first I used 1/2 cap of z7 + 12 oz. water and had zero sticking. I ran out of that with a little of the car left, so I tried the lube that comes with the bar, and it stuck like crazy. Went back and mixed up more z7 and it didn't stick once.

I was apprehensive at first too, but after getting into it, I found it very easy to use and it produced wonderful results...
 
I got my hands on one of those CLearkote Clay Bars. There is almost half a pound of clay there! I figured I could break it into four pieces just incase I drop one.



I've noticed that it is sticky as well. I had the same feeling with the Autopia Glide and Block clay bar I also have.
