Clay before applying BFWD?

Just wondering what you use to clean the dash and the seats. I've never been too sure what would be best for the dash, which seems to bee made out of some heavy duty plastic. And the seats are a whole different story. For those of you who don't know about the seats, the are made out of a material called escaine that is similar to suede and trimmed with leather.

Thanks,

JP

The dash, use 303, the seats just vacuum reguarlly. If they get dirty, just use a carpet cleaner and extractor, but be carfull about overwetting, thats a thin fabric.

So I polished/detailed my car in June and need to reapply coat of BFWD because it seems I didn't apply it properly or if I recall it rained during the night after applying it. I might actually try applying it with my PC to see how that goes. So my question is should I clay the car since I only claybarred it in June? Thank you for the help.

I was just in a similar situation, Blackfired my wife's car in May and then again this weekend. I went ahead and clayed it because it sits outside all day and many nights too. (Whoever's car is the cleanest gets the inside garage.) They claying went quick, though, nowhere near as much resistance as the first time I did it.

Okay, I guess it won't hurt to do a clay. It's been clayed a few times now so it was never terribly tough.

Just do the plastic bag test. Put your hand into a plastic sandwich bag and run your hand over the painted surface. If the bag gets snaged by the paint, you know that you need to clay it. If it is smooth, there is no reason to clay it again. You might want to use a cleaner polish like Blackfire Gloss Enhancer or P21S Gloss Enhancing polish if there is no need to clay it.
