Clay & AIO?

Paint is pretty dirty, haven't washed in a couple months and haven't waxed in probably 4. Going to wash and clay, for starters. My question..is doing AIO after the clay worthwhile or will the clay pretty much get the paint as clean as you can get it? Basically want to prep for Z2. Not concerned too much with swirls so I want to skip polishing if I can. Help is appreciated.

AIO following clay is a definite good idea. Clay will take deposits on the paint. AIO will clean the paint, chemically, to give you a nice base for Z2Pro. I have used it with stellar success. I now use ZPC instead of AIO but it will work.

I agree. Clay + AIO will be a good idea. Especially since you don't want to do any polishing. The AIO will probably do enough polishing all by itself *and* give you an excellent base for your Z.

You're probably done by now, but my pick-up (black F150) was in a similar state a few months ago. Washed (Dawn), clayed, washed again, then used 2 X AIO (both by hand)....first application a bit more aggressive than the second. I use p21S wax as a topper (I know, there's a new acronym for it now, but I haven't been around for awhile), but.....the result was one of the best I've had. If the paint is in otherwise good shape, just using AIO after claying and prior to the topper may be just fine (AIO is not very aggressive as a polish).

Hope it worked for you.
