Christmas shopping for my garage?

Many have seen my thread on my build of my 5 car garage and house. Today was my b-day and my wife got me the 74" Stanley metal cabinet from Home Depot (didnt see it on the website?) and a 150' airhose reel . She was saying she was thinking of getting me the rest of the cabinets I'd want to make a nice work bench / storage area! I figure thats a good $400-600-ish. Cool! I already have 2 of the tall plastic cabinets from Lowes and 3- large tool boxes, as well as 4 plastic 5 shelf shelving units, 2 stage air compressor, good jack and jack stands as well as PC and rotary.

So given $400-600 dollars to spend and an 1130' garage to buy for what would YOU get? I realize Ill have 3-4x that amount out of my pocket once we move in with painting, floor and what-not. Just looking for some suggestions, thanks!

Oh and just so you all know I got her jewelry, a CD box set, lens for her underwater digital camera, some books and games. So its all good. :dance

Paint and lighting are the two things I would work on first. Storage and then flooring would be next.

Thank Sean. Its hell getting old (33). Im going to be doing the painting of the walls / cieling myself, yah THATS going to be fun (not)! At over 1130 sq ft, it will be like painbting a whole house, but with 10.5' cielings. I plan to spend money on the garage once we actually own the house so this is not all the garage is going to get, trust me. She's not going to pay $1700 to get the floor coated for Christmas, for that matter Im having second thoughts too, might just leave the concrete. I was just looking for ideas, maybe the TV and wall mount stand, gas heater, electric cord reels. What other odds and ends make up a perfect garage on a budget?

For what I use it for:

-Lighting

-Power Outlets

-Stereo and/or TV

-Work bench area

-Tool Chest

-Detailing Product Chest

-Hooks to hang stuff from the ceiling

-Shelving for various uses

-Jacks/ Jack stands

-HEATER

-Insulation around garage door (most heat loss)

Thats all I can think of, as of now. Hope it gives you an idea or two.

I'd put that towards a heating system and lighting. If I had a garage that size, I'd think of fabricating some kind of air wall to have semi-heated / unheated zones to help cut down on the utility bills. Don't know how feasible it would be.

Happy Birthday "old" man :D I'm not that far behind you. Age is just a number. :xyxthumbs

Have your kitchen contractor do a cabinet set up for your garage. Be sure to get 75lb drawer slides in the lower cabinets. Maybe a LazyBoy Recliner and fridge for your friends to be comfortable while they watch you detail their cars!
