Chinelle Mitts and My washer(HELP)

I just washed my new chinelle mitts cuase i was gonna start detailing today and figured all my new towels needed washing too so i threw everything in and it all came out with lint all over it. I got some of the lint off but how in the heck do I get the rest of it. I just put all the towels back in without the mitts to see if the lint washes away....
 
What kind of new towels did you put in with the cotton chenille mitts?



To get the lint off of cotton towels, dry them then shake them off.



If they are MF, a pair of tweezers and lots of time and 10X magnify glass.



I wash my MF towels alone, then follow with cotton towels alone (along with foam applicator pads), then my mitts alone, then I do an empty cycle to clean everything out of the washing machine. All of the above is done with original liquid Tide (got those 300 ounce jugs at Costco, even my cloths get original liquid Tide, can't use anything else.)
 
i had microfibers, and 100% cotton towels, including the ultimate drying towel and detailing towel. I will definitely wash them separately from now on.
 
:scared ALWAYS wash your lint-free MF towels separately from other things - especially cotton! They're lint magnets. Good luck in correcting the problem.
 
I made the same mistake but I was lucky that I washed the chenille mitt alone. A total mess so I tossed them and purchased two more. I am amazed how much they shed.
 
New 100% cotton towels are the worst shedders - wash'em separatley and try a cycle in the dryer to remove any extra lint (low heat).



I even keep the MFs towels stored separtley in big zip-lock bags to keep them away from anything cotton.

I saved my Ultimate Detailing and Drying towels that i bought here on Autopia. I think the microfibers have had it though. I can use these for something else I guess. They were only a dollar each at Walmart anyway. So i guess it didn't break the bank. I am now storing almost everything in plastic bags and washing things by hand, then drying them alone before they go back in the bag. I can't let this happen again.
 
Machine washing MF's can't be beat.



I wash them alone.



Here are my MF's after a wash (well washed Jt's by themselves in right bin, PakShaks in their own cycle in left bin. I dried them in the drier at medium heat with no fabric softener sheets.

Plus 3 original CMA miracle towels from 4 years ago, still dusting the house.



Rubbermaid Bins < $2.50 at Wal-mart.

"Good riddance to bad rubbish," say I. Buy some quality MF towels from Autopians PakShak, YoSteve, AutoFiber.com, Poorboy, etc. :up I believe you'll be delighted at the difference.



Your "trashed" WalMart MFs can still be used for wheel-cleaning, maybe even some interior duties. Just keep them away from your paintwork.

Hey, I just made the same new-guy mistake. Fortunately I must have lucked out a little bit. I mixed microfiber waffel towels and new wash mit with a load of colors, and microfiber buff towel with underware and regular towels. But I dried the microfiber buff and waffel towels by themselves (mit hung dry), and didn't have a problem with lint. I also dried them for a full cycle instead of the half cycle I intended on (fell asleap), so I think the lint trap may have done it's job extra well.
