Chimney Cleaning: How much should it cost?

I'm getting estimates all over the place. One guy is telling me $700, another says $175. It's been years since I've paid somebody to do this job and I don't have any sense what a fair price is.



The roof is steep, the chimney has an SS cap on it. Nothing else unusual about the job.



Any suggestions?

It depends the area you lived and the cost of living i that area. I had mine done last yr and it cost me 150.00 at that time.

When was the last time you had an imspection done to check the lining?

It was last inspected about 3yrs ago. We use it just a couple times per year. House is 9 yrs old.
