Chewing gum on leather

shotime

Privitize it
The secretary at work has chewing gum ground into her seat. It's been there for a month so it's really worked in. The seats are leather so I really don't want to use anything harsh on it. Any ideas?

freeze it for about 2 minutes with ice, gently scrape off with a razor (plastic or metal) what will break off, repeat until results are good, remove the rest with a soft brush and a mixture of APC and water 4:1.

Spray a little Poorboy's Natural Look on the gum and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then, lightly rub with a cotton terry towel.

I've had great luck with Stoner's Xenit with gum. It seems to dissolve the gum. I've never harmed any leather with Xenit but it's pretty strong stuff so I'd try the ice first. And then whatever leather cleaner you have around. If all else fails to give the results you want, I'm confident that Xenit will get it out.

Do you know if this product works well on carpet? Thank you. :)

The towel pusher got to it before me. I don't know what he used (I don't think he does either) but the leather is stained....at least the gum is gone. I guess I've got some ideas to try if I ever come across this again. Thanks.
