Chevy Malibu Interior Detail and Winterize by M.R. Detail Shop

First off this isn't the fanciest or hottest car but time and dedication goes into each clients car whether its a high end luxury or a daily driver. That said enjoy, as a detailer they all can't be amazing pieces of machinery you have to fill your calender with work!

This client was much more interested in making sure the interior was as good as possible, since she commutes an hour to and from work everyday. Also needed to pay special attention to the trunk mat as food had spilled a year ago or so and I guess it was finally time to address the mess. It was gnarly kind of moldy in curtain spots and since it was about 1-year-old sauce it didn't come out 100%. The exterior didn't get the works but it came out very nice and it's protected for the up coming winter. I can't believe it's that time of the year again.

Wash-Wax
  • Hand wash via the two bucket method, CG Citrus Wash and Gloss concentrated to strip previous protection and to clean the paint and dry with DI Waffle Weave Towels.
  • Meg's Wheel Brightener on the wheels along with assorted brushes.
  • Meg's APC+(4:1) to clean tires and wheel wells.
  • Clay with Pinnacle Poly Clay and Dodo Juice Born Slipper clay lube.
  • Meg's M105 by hand with terry cloth applicator for around door handles and some scratches on the spoiler.
  • Optimum Poli-Seal with a Green flat LC pad on speed 5 via PC 7424X
  • Two applications of Meg's #16 wax to insure total coverage of the entire car and extra protection for the winter.
  • Tires were protected and dressed with Optimum Tire Bond Gel.
  • Glass cleaned with Stoners Invisible Glass.
  • Glass treated with Aquapel to increase visibility during inclement weather.
  • Exterior rubber trim treated with 303 Aerospace Protectant.
  • Door jams treated with CG Ez-Creme Acrylic Shine.
Interior:
  • Thoroughly vacuum the entire interior.
  • Pre-treat carpet, floor mat stains and trunk mat with Woolite (10:1) and Meg's APC+ (10:1) and assorted scrub brushes.
  • Clean carpet, floor mats and trunk mat using Bissell Little Green Machine.
  • Clean seats with Woolite (10:1) and gentle bristle scrub brush.
  • Condition leather with Wolfgang Leather Conditioner.
  • Clean all plastic surfaces with APC+ (10:1) and microfiber towels.
  • Wipe down dash and console with Einzsett Cockpit Premium Cleaner.
  • Protect dash and all door panels with 303 Aerospace Protectant.
  • 3M Scotch guard all non leather and plastic interior surfaces.

Thanks for checking out my work!

Nice job. I think daily drivers that have been stomped on by 2 or 3 kids and neglected by the owners are the jobs that separate the men from the boys. To me at least, these are the most impressive turnarounds and we don't see enough of them on here.

Bravo.
I'm always impressed by a thorough interior detail. Lots of places for dirt to hide and different materials to deal with. And inside is where the owner spends most of their time.

Thanks for the 'real world' turn around.

:)Nice work, that paint looks wet.

Thank you sir!

Nice turn around.
Greatly appreciated.

Nice turn around she should be happy with the results.
Thanks, she was thrilled!! She asked for about 10 biz cards when she came to pick up the car and was going to give them out to people at work and she even has called about a detail after the winter!

Thanks alot for the kind words, too be honest sometimes jobs like these are more gratifying then the luxury car paint correction.

Yup, I always tell all my clients when its a daily driver that they should pay the extra for a total interior detail as its where they spend most of there time and will appreciate the money spent. It also can't always be beemers, benz's, lambos and porsches. I wish it was but thats not realistic.

Kudos to you, sir. That leather was NASTY!!! Great work. :bigups:
Many thanks to you and all!!!!!:thanks:thanks

HI Mr. Detail. How much is a detail like this going to cost? I just purchased a black honda pilot and i really want to prep it for the winter. I also hate to see the glass fogging up in the rain sometimes. Thanks for your help! :)

btw, i heard many people put "extra coats" before the winter, so the car won't get so beatup by the snow and salt. how much is it to put those extra coats?

thanks

Leo- I got your email this morning sorry I have been busy and I haven't bee here for a few days. Call me if you have any questions.

Nice work! Get that out of your vac asap, that mold was nasty! That will smell up your rig very quickly
thanks! I flushed my vac about half a dozen times after that job.

what's your honest opinion of the 303 aerospace protectant? I have some gift cards to overton's and might order some. Thanks for the input Make it Shine

IMHO 303 Aerospace is great!! If used correctly you can use it on any detail from a DD to an exotic or collectible. I think its a must have in your detailing arsenal. Either interior dashbaord for extra protection, rubber trim around windows, rubber seals around the doors, or even under the hood its a can't miss. It doesn't work well on neglected surfaces but it protects well and leaves a nice matte finish. hope that helps man, good luck!
