Chemical polish vs Abrasive polish

What are the differences between an polish like Men.FP2(abrasive) and a polish like Klasse(chemical).

My guess is that abrasives work better with PC applications

and chemicals are better with hand applications.

chemical cleaners are good for a gentle clean without removing lots of paint, they clean away grime and oxidised/dead paint but dont really touch any swirls etc

Abrasives remove swirls and paint damage. A chemical cleaner (like mentioned) will do nothing for swirls, but will clean the paint and leave a surface ready for your LSP. If your car needs to be polished, but has no swirls, something like KAIO would be ideal.

IMO, there's no categorical correlation between abrasive/chemical polishes and machine/hand application.

Mechanical/abrasive polishes can work just fine by hand as long as the abrasives break down (and most products that work by PC also work fine by hand); it's when you run into rotary-only abrasive products that you have to be careful.

And note that often, products that contain "abrasive ingredients" are functionally nonabrasive on auto paint anyhow; the "abrasives" just make them easier to use, *especially* by hand.
