Chemical Guys v38 vs Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polishing

Hey everyone. First post here. Hope I put it in the right place!

I`m prepping to do the first detail on my 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500HD that has some good holograms, swirling and there`s quite a bit of overstay from one of the constriction sites I`m managing...

I`m planning on doing a full paint decon, clay mit/clay bar, M105 (if i absolutly have to), polish with M205, Jewel with Chemical Guys V38, seal with Blackfire Wet Diamond and finish with Blackfire Midnight Sun.

I`ll be using a DA polisher and have a number of different pads.

My question is: can I use the BDWD right after the V38 without affecting the bonding ability of BFWD or should I use Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish before the BFWD and skip the v38?

This will be a good test for BFWD/Midnight Sun as the truck sits outside 24/7, I dive approx 30k miles a year, and it`ll see more than it`s fare share of dirt and contaminets from construction sites.

I`d skip the Chemical Guys and go right to the GEP .

but of course, do some testing to find the best results for you.

I know the GEP is a cleaning polish, what about the V38? I haven`t used a IPA solution before and I was looking to get the truck done in a day or two since it`s my DD. It`s a lot of paint square footage!

I was thinking about doing a 50/50 on the roof with BFWD and Klasee High Gloss Sealant to see what one has a better look, longevity, beading etc.

Wgasa84- Welcome to Autopia!

Be careful what you use the Klasse Sealant Glaze over top of, it doesn`t bond to everything (I only use it over Klasse All-In-One or on a perfectly bare surface). I find KSG needs at least 4 coats to provide good durability, never used the BFWD (their All Finish Paint Protection didn`t favorably impress me).

The BF GEP leaves stuff behind, it`s sorta like a glaze that works OK with their other products.

Be sure you get the Trade Secret Oils from the M205 off/out of the paint! I find that incredibly challenging, so much so that I quit using it. IPA is NOT effective for this IME so I have to use products made specifically for that kind of paint-cleaning. Left on there, those oils can do a good bit of concealing, so between those and the BFGEP it`d be easy to conceal the holograms and *think* they`ve actually been removed (they`ll then "come back" later as stuff dissipates).

Not trying to be all pessimistic, just trying to head off the kind of problems that`ve driven me nuts.

[INSERT my usual "buy some FK1000P" suggestion...sorry, couldn`t resist..no way I`d redo that thing every few months]
 
Have you had the truck buffed before? It looks like you have some buffer trails on the doors.
The factory paint on the roof had considerable contaminants that were painted over so the roof was originally repainted and somebody had backed into the passenger side rear quarter panel so that was replaced and painted. I noticed the buffer trails after the roof was redone but I don`t want to take it to the dealership about it since they were the ones that instilled the buffer trails...
