Check Engine Light Came on after cleaning the engine

I always clean the motors of cars that I detail and I did a Nissan Altima on Saturday and after I did the engine the check engine light came on. The car runs fine. Has this happened to anyone before? I used Gunk Engine Degreaser, let it set for a few minutes and then rinsed with a hose.
 
Could be coincidence. You`ll need to pull the code to know what is going on. A loose gas cap can turn on a check engine light
 
Heh heh, I doubt it`s a coincidence, but I also doubt that it`s anything more than a sensor that needs to be reset.
 
Some codes will reset with X number of starts and maybe X miles with out a fault, some will require a manual reset and some may require you to buy a new sensor or control computer. These new electronic vehicles are nothing to screw around with unless you enjoy problems like this that could help disburse your wealth. I always disconnect my batteries and make sure everything is dry before reconnecting. Bad side is if you use radio pre-sets they are gone.
