So I went to look at the Explorer today and it was not there. They had traded it in for a Ford Five Hundred. I guess the uy wanted it detailed before hand, but the wife was too darn eager to get a new car. So we B.S. for a bit about his truck. Now remember, he said $60 was what he paid for a full detail before. LOL It will be a 2 day job most likely. He was very unknowing on what he wanted. Kept asking how much for this. How much for that. What about this and this.

I broke it down for him. I told him he is looking at $100 for the interior, and that was very cheap considering the condition. He asked about the exterior next. wanted it washed, but wanted the scratces removed. Hmmmmm.......sounds like a detail. He said he could lick his finger, rub the marks, and the scratches will come off..LOL....NOT! I quoted him $125 for the outside. So, that added up to my $225 I qouted at first. Guess I had to break it down. I have to call him Monday, if he does not call me by then. He said he spent his money on the new car and has to wait till his next check and/or tax refund. He is DEAD SET on getting it done too.
PICS....

Such a nice truck, hard to see it trashed like that! That door panel is just uncalled for- it looks like he left his window open or something. I think you said it before, but I think that'd be a very fun detail. Sure it is a lot of work but the results will be worth it.

It's amazing how little people care about their vehicles. Let alone the fact that it's a limited edition truck.

Chris, glad the word is getting out. Really keep on him and his buddie until they get a detail. As for the condition I hope you have something agressive. Rotary?

Greg

It's nice to see a truck that is used like a truck should be used, but that kind of neglect is pretty crazy. If he was going to treat it like that then he should have gotten something worth less so he doesn't lose as much on his investment when he destorys it.

Too bad that is all that I have. :surrender :nutkick

According to some, any job is a job for a PC.
Do not fret, but once you've tried a rotary, you might get hooked.

I mentioned in the last post that this guy sounds like he is full of s**t. I have to say he is now for sure. You have a family to feed, go find other business. This guy is jerking you around like you are a dumb kid.

Anyone who says they can't put together $100 is lying to you!
And Ill bet you the $100 for the detail that there is no "regular guy" that will detail that junk for $60. If there is, hire the guy immediately and start selling his work.

Just my input, I have been in the retail work world for 17 years, I have heard all of the bulls**t "I cant buy" excuses.

I wouldnt touch it for less than $60 just to wash!! My old stuff thats not worth $4000 doesnt ever get that bad. i saw it was Texas truck< I thought it never rains down there to get that much mud on a vehichle. I think Id charge a lot nore than $200 for the detail, even that horse trailer in a another post would be more easy on the mind. RANDAL

He's got the money. He wanted me to start on it yesterday at 5PM when I looked at it, but told him it needed to be sceduled on a day he is not working, such as a weekend. He gets home at 4PM everyday, and I think that is a litle too late to start a job like this. I'll only be able to work a good 4.5 hours before darkness. That way, it will be a good 3 days, and everything I did the previous day, would be all dirty again.

Good call. From looking at it, I'd agree that you'll need two FULL days, one full day on the exterior, another full day on the interior. Good luck! :howdy

I can't wait to see how this turns out!!! Good luck!

For $225, this guy is getting the deal of a lifetime. You could buy a gallon of gas, set the thing on fire, and pocket the remaining $25 :)

:lmfao Good one! Fortunately we haven't hit $200/gal. for Regular Unleaded yet, though :boot

Let me chime in if I may. Im an avid hunter and Im not surprised. Scratches are unavoidable in that line of work. He cant tell his client "I cant drive you through that brush because it might scratch my paint"

True. The outside wasn't the concern to me, just the nice interior. LOL
I know the outside will be a PITA, but oh well, I'm looking forward to it.
