Well got called to a show today to do complete details on three cars. They were only supposed to be wipe downs, but ended up being complete overhaulings.

I originally charged him $300. He gave me a cheque for $500 and I was like, "sir you gave me just a little too much". He was like "you definatly deserve it. Did more than I ever expected. Luckily he has 18 or 19 more cars at home for me to do. :nana:

The owner of these cars is a millionaire and has homes all over the world. Very down to earth guy though. He said that he was talking to a couple people asking who they thought was the best guy to go to about this kinda stuff. He said everyone said "I was the best in Winnipeg, if not Manitoba". That sure got me happy. :spot

Some specs on the different cars:

Lil Red Truck

Fresh paint on this thing. Rims were redone earlier in the year. Sanding marks were still there on the thing, so I ended up removing all the wetsanding marks from the paint. Not sure on the year.

Process:

SSR 3 via wool pad on the rotary

SSR 2.5 via cutting pad on PC

SSR 2 via polishing pad on PC

Topped with Awsome Gloss

Chrome got some Blue Magic

Tires got some "dress it right"

Wood was polished with SSR 1. Looked tremendous afterwards. :)

Road Runner

1974 model year, original interior. Has a totally built 440 in it, with close to 700 Hp, and he describes it as being a "holy *** car". Took it down the strip in a 10 second pass.

Paint was in decent shape except for WICKED BAD orange peels on the hood and trunk lid. He said he had close to 6 coats of clear on it, so I pulled out the sanding block and 2000 grit and took the orange peel down a little.

Process:

SSR 3 to remove my sanding marks on the hood

SSR 2.5 on rest of the car

Sonus SFX2 (paint was pretty soft)

Wet Wax by Automagic

Same combo for trim tires and chrome as the truck.

Charger

Not exactly sure on the year, but he's owned the car since new. Bought it at 16.

Car has original interior in MINT shape. Still has the plastic on it.

Paint job is valued at over $20000. The paint was so deep its not even funny. So flat its not even funny. Too bad the body shop slacked off with wetsanding and compounding. Seems the missed the step called polishing. Compounding marks all over the car.

Process:

SSR 2.5 via cutting pad

SSR 2 via polishing pad

"finger applied" mothers paste wax

Same process for chrome, tires, and such.

I'm not sure but I th ink that truck was on the show "trucks" a few years back... Looks exactly the same. They all look awesome.

The Charger is a '66 or '67. Hopefully someone else can identify which year for sure. The Lil Red Express is neat as well. I can't tell that he likes Mopars, lol. Good job!

My friend had a Roadrunner about that vintage, I think his was a '73...360 as I recall. That Lil' Red Truck is circa 1980. IIRC, when Car & Driver did their double-the-double-nickel top speed test, that truck was the fastest product that Chrysler made (this was K-car days, remember...hmm, maybe '81 then since that was when the emissions regs got tightened on the cars, trucks didn't have to meet the same specs).

So cool! Honestly, I enjoy detailing musclecars to high dollar imports. I bet you had a blast working on all three! Excellent work too. :)

Lil' Red Truck was built in '78 and '79 - I remember they came out before I graduated high school. It was actually the fastest production vehicle in '78 (probably American made). I know it was faster than the Corvette that year.
