Championship Game tonight!

Who is going to win tonight, Oklahoma or Southern Cal? I'm going with the Sooners.

I'll watch the game, but I think Auburn got shafted...and I'm a Georgia fan. Going undefeated in the SEC is a much bigger accomplishment than going undefeated in the PAC 10 or Big 12 IMO. Flame suit is on, so flame away.

I think it will be a very close game and think Oklahoma will probably win.

I like Auburn, so my opinion is a little jaded, but there will be three undefeated teams. It's kind of unfair to say only one is the national champion. I think Auburn does play in one of the toughest conferences (if not the absolute toughest) in college football, although they did play a couple of weak non-conference opponents. Going undefeated in the SEC is very tough to do, and I agree that the PAC10 and Big12 are weaker conferences. USC doesn't even play in a conference title game (do they??) and Oklahoma played a team with a near losing record. I'll just say that this year is a good example of why a playoff would be good thing. Oh well. I guess I'd like to see Oklahoma pull it out, seeing as how they are #2, but USC has a very good team too.

I'd like to see Auburn play the winner. The Sec is a better conference than the Pac 10 but Auburn did play Citadel,LA Tech and LA- Monroe. Their strength of schedule according to the "experts" was weaker than Southern Cal and Oklahoma.

They also played Tennesee (twice), LSU, Georgia all of whom were ranked in the top 10 (with the exception of the 2nd Tennessee game). Also, the in-state rival Alabama (2nd best defense in the country - #1 defense for most of the season). I do agree that they played a weaker than usual non-conference schedule, but I personally think they played as tough a schedule as either of the other two. I guess that's why I'm not an expert.

I agree. I'd like a playoff too. Utah would lose by fifty points if they played Oklahoma,Texas,Southern Cal,Auburn.

Let's not pick on poor Utah now!! :) I really don't think they are the caliber of the other undfeateds, but it is still an accomplishment to not lose a game. It's amazing there will be three after it's all said and done.

Division 1-A football is the only sport without a playoff and as mentioned above the situation this year begs for a playoff. I'd really like to see an 8 team playoff. The money would be there too...of course the existing bowl system would need to be scrapped or redesigned...maybe incorporate some of the existing bowls into the mix as the playoff games and use the BCS bowls as the semi-finals with the championship game rotating between the current BCS bowls.

It'll be interesting to see what happens next season with the AP poll being out of the mix; I wonder if they'll do 50% coaches poll & 50% computer polls.

staying out of all of these complications, i think SC will win. i know the sooners have two hesiman candidates, but in the end, i think SC just wants to win more.
