CG Wash&Gloss vs Wash&Clear

I bought some CWG a while back, and haven't used it yet because I'm saving it to use as a paint-prep before clay, etc....

I never really paid attention before but see most people using CWC ... is it a preference thing, or will the 'gloss' in CWG interfere with a prepped surface, at the 2oz/gallon ratio?

Thanks!

I have, and use, both CWG and CWC. I have never had an issue with sealant bonding due to the "gloss" in CWG. I have used CWG followed by DGPS 3.0, DG 501/105, Zaino Z2P & Z5P. With that said, I hear DGPS 3.0 plays pretty well with other products. The use of DG501 before the DG105 may have prevented possible issues, as well as the ZFX with Z2P/Z5P. Maybe others have had issues when using other sealants. You are correct that many do prefer the CWC as paint prep., and there probably is a reason, I just havent had any issues with CWG.

I would use the CWC over the CWG. I would also IPA the surface very well to prep the surface for the sealant, if oils are present sealants play games you won't enjoy.

Make sure you thoughly remove any LSPs so you have a CLEAN surface.

Cheers,

Greg

I asked someone at CG's a while back if there would be a problem using CW&G before polishing (because of the glossing agents) and they said it wouldn't make any difference and would be fine...

That's reassuring, thanks! I didn't think to call them!
