Looks like CG have made their own version of a speedy prep towel, well its not really a towel... I wonder if this product works better than the speedy prep towel

Ill stick with my speedy prep, because it has 4 sides to for easy flipping, as well as less time washing it off. Cool idea though!

In my opinion, its safe to say clay bars are going to be retired here soon.

Its called the Magna Sponge...its been around for years and there has been reviews that it marr's. Its not better then the NanoSkin Prep Towel or any of their contamination productions.

All these products will benefit the detailer and homeowner in removing contaminated's from their paint. The bars will be around for many years to come, so don't count it out.

After reading all the good things about the Speedy Prep towel by Sam Arnold and copied/lincensed by everyone, I got one. I did a direct comparison with my Clay Magic Blue on a car with rattle can overspray. The towel was easier - cleaned instead of kneading and covered a larger area....BUT! It marred the ever lovin dogsh!t out of that car's paint. And I see ya'll saying...oh, but did you use the special towel lube and did you do this and that and whatever....yep, sure did. The clay might be slower and you might grow a few inches on your forearms but it sure worked better, didn't mar the paint and took less passes to get the surface smooth.

I'm sorry guys, but this thing was the biggest disappointment since I didn't win the Powerball Wednesday.

Yes the CG CLAYBLOCK and Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System appear to be the same product.

Lou - Out of curiosity...Did you use the MEDIUM or FINE SM Arnold Speedy Prep towel?
I heard the FINE Speedy Prep towel is slightly less aggressive than Auto-Magic RED

I have a few of the clay alternative products on order but have not received any yet.

Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System
Nanoskin Autoscrub System 6 inch DA Pads (Med & Fine)
SM Arnold Speedy Surface Prep Towel (Med & Fine)
Nanoskin Auto Scrub Wash Mitt (Med & Fine)

I already knew if I used any of the MED products that polishing the paint was mandatory.

Medium grade of any of these will mar the paint. When most started coming out they were fairly aggressive.

I'm getting the Nanoskin fine grade mitt with my next order. After seeing Garry Dean's review I think I'll really like it.

I had the medium, looks like it'll get use as cleaner of chrome side tubes on pickups, chrome exhaust tips and nasty rims.

BTW - used my Clay Magic blue on a silver Ford last week - the wife's vehicle to the one I marred earlier, no marring! took all the overspray off, admittingly - it took 4 -5 passes on the worst areas. And by passes I mean, wash, clay, knead, wash, repeat etc

I was looking thru CG products and noticed this is their V2,and they already have a CLAYBLOCK. I wonder if they are the same, just the new one is less aggressive. At first I was hearing a lot of marring from the speedy prep towel, but I think that's just on the medium version. Everyone so far who got the less aggressive one said they didn't really have marring issues. Of course if your paint is soft even clay will Marr it if you aren't careful. Speedy prep towel looks like it's faster than the block or clay.

The Sam Arnold Speedy Pred Towel is made by NanoSkin for Sam Arnold.

that's the problem. Everyone has been recommending the FINE grade for not marring and still effective. The medium might help if you have to detail a car that is already totally swirled and trashed up, but the fine is necessary if you don't want to mar the paint.

Received the Speedy Prep towel (FINE) yesterday and tried it this morning.
I did the break-in thing on the windows marked the four corners & did the paint.
I could not find any micro-marring that I could attribute to the Speedy Prep towel.

If there was any I believe could have found it on this red paint.

I kept it wet (I had Megs QD handy) I went very light, it was very FAST.
I did the baggie test afterwards and the paint was slicker then dog snot.

So far I'm diggin' this new tool! Ease of use, very quick & just rinse it off.
