CG Blitz Acrylic Spray Sealant

Tried it and like it. Haven't tried UPPS or OCW so I can't comment on that but I have used Z-8 and it compares favorably imho. Like so many other products a little goes far, make sure to look at the section you've just completed for any left behind residue. I use a good quality mf and keep turning it. Leaves a look on my yellow vette that says I worked a lot longer to get this finish than just the 10 minutes it took to spray and wipe off. Now as far as durability...subjective like any other product but don't expect it too last for weeks especially on a daily driver, but as far as putting the shine and gloss on your vehicle when you need it, it's hard to beat.

What did you use Blitz spray over? How long did it last? How long before slickness/beading started to deteriorate? I'm going to try ez-creme glaze with M-seal over it and Blitz spray as a booster every week or two.....

That's pretty high praise...anyone else make that comparison? Slightly less than Z8 in the 16 oz...but less than 25% of the price by the gallon!

Good post Sherman. You're the CG reviewer though!

I'm curious to know what separates this from AW, OCW and to a lesser extent WAUD or FX Spray. Not to mention DP Final Gloss Booster and DP Spray Surface Shield Paint Sealant; both of which I own but yet to use :o

I'm a lover of spray products post washing or to complete a detail (more so than a QD).

Hopefully someone will chime in.

:chuckle: LOL I'm still working on my current stock (of DP SSS, in fact). If we don't get more responses, I'll have to try some and do a full-fledged review. :up

BTW, Seth--the DP SSS is a great product, a lot like UPPS, but it can be tempermental to use...make sure to apply/remove in one swift act, because if there's any kind of break after you spread it around it'll try and become a PITA to get off. It leaves an intense, blingy shine especially on silver and it lasts for quite awhile. Slickness is excellent, too.

gben--thanks for chiming in, but I'd like some more details. Is it QD-easy to use? Is it difficult like CG Instawax? Does it lie somewhere in between? Can it be used over both sealants and carnaubas, or just sealants? Does it work best as a topper/booster or alone? Alone on a totally clean surface, ~how much durability can be expected? Or at least how does the durability compare to Z8 or any other similar products you've used? Hell, how does the durability compare to any QD's you've used? Can you describe the look it acheives or compare it to other products? How is the slickness? Thanks! :D

Thanks Sherm.

Not to hijack the thread but can the DP SSS be used on top of a 'nuba like a #16 or Nattys? Or say after a couple of washes to top a 'nuba?

I never dared to try topping it over a 'nuba. My experience with DP Premium Surface Shield (if that means anything) over 'nuba (CG XXX) says it'll go on well but it won't last worth a damn.

I am an a noob/neophyte/amateur so I can't offer any real any critical analysis worthy of this forum.:bow I have been lurking for a while and this is my first post.:soscared: I have used CG Blitz and have put it over M Seal and CG 5050. (No need for glaze as it is a brand new car with the paint in good condition.) I really like this combination as it gives a good combination of wetness and depth. I used the CG biltz to as a topper/booster. The blitz goes on very easily with an MF applicator pad. Blitz comes in a spray bottle but I do not recommend spraying it on the car directly so that it will not go all over the trim. The blitz takes 10-15 minutes to haze and comes off very easily with a MF cloth with no dusting.

Sherman I haven't used it over a nuba as of yet and mostly use it on my garage queen vette before I take it out. The vette has Zaino on it but that being said I've been using Blitz on it to make it pop when needed. I do have the Z8 also and will use that as well and that's where I can draw a comparison. Blitz is every bit as easy to use as Z8 and imho (subjective) gives a wetter look, slickness is right there too I feel. I've used it on my wifes car a black accord after using M seal and what was already a really nice looking finish only got better. Durabilty on a daily driver is maybe a week and this is thru some roads under construction 5 days a week two times a day. As for beading .that's hard to tell since what's under the blitz is still there after the blitz is gone. I think it works best as a booster. I like the product and will probably buy more when my stash runs out. Hope this helps.

I have used it, looks ok, but to much effort/time needed for it to haze up, plus as stated you cant really spray it on the car like you can AW or OCW or FK-fx100(glaze/sealant) and removal takes more effort than the other products I mentioned.

Mine streaked a bit so I had to go back over the car with another MF, so I have it on the shelf, just not a "go to " item for me. Probably end up chucking it or giving it to my neighbor.

As with most CG products, durability isn't there. And I have tried a lot of them. So, for your cars that probably get hit with some type of protective product, what, every two weeks you will be happy. To use on clients cars who are paying for something to last, not my cup of tea.

my 2 cents.

I know this is a old thread but, does anyone know what kind of durability you can get with blitz as an LSP or is it meant to be a booster?

CG calls it a sealant. I treat it as a booster.
