Cerakote Ceramic Trim Wipes Question

HI all. I used the cerakote ceramic trim wipes and they are epic. Lasts long and no runs onto paint from rain.

I read online they it is NOT to be used on rubber. Only plastic. Anyone have experience with this? Is it really only plastic? I would love to use this on rubber trim too.

Thanks!!

17 months and trim looks new. Sorry only used on plastics. Figure rubber is flexible and a coating is not

I love the product too. I want to do my rubber with it though and am wondering why it says not to... I get the flexible part but will it do damage?

Yes. Trim I used it with wasn’t thrashed but definitely weathered. You could tell it was 6 years old. Kind of “ashy”. Looks almost new even after a year.

Good to know. I`m getting a little tired of applying trim "coatings" or sealants which can measure their life spans in months.

Any special prep steps before using the wipes other than a good cleaning of the surface?

Good topic for me as I have a new truck and was wondering how to keep the black on my truck looking good for years. I`ve read some reviews on these wipes and it seems most have good luck with them but a few saw poor results and one guy said he was now trying to figure out how to remove the product. One thing that caught my eye was the "use only on non painted plastic." Isn`t it all painted in some means?

It really is an amazing product on plastic. I have some unpainted plastic trim and it`s amazing. Best part is it doesn`t run. I could see if you don`t use enough of the wipes you get an uneven finish and it could look bad. Maybe I`ll just do my rubber and see what happens?

I just scrubbed with Diluted APC (LATA) and followed up with Gyeon Prep. Blew dry with metro sidekick.

Excuse my ignorance but isn`t all the plastic on vehicles painted? Black included?
