Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get some CD-2 engine detailer in Canada or a place that sells it in bulk and will ship to Canada.

Cheers
Chris

I'd be happy to find a place to buy it in bulk in the US. I'd even settle for a location I could buy one can locally. It is becoming harder and harder to find.

Same here. I cannot find it for the life of me. BTW. How much does it cost?

It is around $5 bucks a can. I can find it at some AutoZones around here, but not all of them. I have to go to the north end of the valley to get it when I run out.

I pick up an item called "quick detail" from a local supplier. It is an aerosol can and can be used for engine bays. It sprays on nicely. You can leave it at that for a high gloss shine, or wipe for a nice natural shine. I want to try the CD-2 to see if it brings the same results. I can pick it up for close to $3.00 a can.

I could not find it at auto zone but I found it here..

Is noone concerned with the fact that CD2 contains petroleum distillates, and pet. dist. are known for not being good for plasitcs and rubber and can swell some rubber products?

the cd2 is hard to find.........but i substituted it for meguiars nxt tire shine in an aerosol container......fugging amazing results ultra glossy, and it gives a very thick coat of protection.....plus it gets in every crevice (because its an aerosol spray) i love this stuff ULTRA GLOSSY

Considering that it is designed to be on rubber and plastic I'm sure they have the situation under control. They would be liable for any damage if it caused it, so I doubt it would be allowed on the shelf if it was dangerous when used as directed.

On the other hand, if tire shine somehow messed something up then there would be no liability since it wasn't designed to go in the engine. If CD2 was put on your tires and they went flat then you would likewise have no cause of action. There is an implied warranty that the product isn't going to be dangerous when used as directed.

Not terribly helpful if you aren't in Ohio, but that is good that some more obscure places might still carry it. I'm expanding my search to hole in the wall auto part stores.

Yeah. I've found it in some parts stores. For those living in MA, you may still find it in some AutoZone stores. If you don't find it there it's also carried by CAP (Consumer Auto Parts).
