CCS pads vs. Regular pads?

I've only used traditional flat pads when polishing with my PC, but I've recently read that CCS pads are better. Can someone provide any insight as to if they are actually better than flat pads, and why they are better?

I would be open to other suggestions as far as the best brand/type of pads to use with my PC also.

Thanks everyone.

I've only used CCS pads and when I posted a picture of my "collection" on another forum, everybody told me I should dump them and pick up the flat pads or hydro tech pads. If you get great results and you're comfortable with the flat pads, I would say to stick with them. If you haven't been happy with your results, you can try to switch pads or work on your technique (not judging when I say that by any means... I still have a long way to go).

My next order will have Flat pads and Hydro Tech pads in it, but that's just because I like to play around with everything.

I've done more research after my first post and realized that the consensus is Hydro Tech pads are the best pad to use all around for a PC. I am definitely willing to give them a try.

Can anyone chime in on the main differences between using a flat pad vs Hydro Tech pad?
Lake Country Hydro-Tech 4 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads are made of imported European pre-polymer foam. This long-wearing, high quality foam is less absorbent in order to keep the majority of polish on the pad's surface. You'll experience a longer working time with your water-based polishes and compounds, resulting in less product used to achieve the perfect finish.
They don't absorb as much of the product which allows longer work times.

I'm not quite clear on the term 'longer work times'. Does that mean it will take me longer with these pads to do the same amount of work compared to a normal flat pad? Sorry for the newb question I just want to be clear on this. Thanks.

It's *supposed* to give the product that you are using longer life, which means more time for you to work with the product. Like I said, I've never used them. I got that info off of autogeek's store page, but I've seen people say that it allows them to use products like Meg's 105 for longer lengths of time than they were able to with flat pads or ccs pads.

Ok that makes sense, thanks for the input.

Anyone else have any experience with using Hydo Tech pads vs regular flat pads?
