CCS pads or Flat pads?

Personally, I don't think there's a world of difference between the flat pads and CCS in how they work or the results they achieve. I have used both, although not in the 4" size (I only have flat in 4", but I have 5.5" and 6.5" CCS vs. 6" and 8" flat).

I think it's a matter of personal preference. In other words, if you have one type and are happy with them, I wouldn't spend money just to try the other.

I've talked to Richard (OctaneGuy) in person and asked him what he thought of them actually. He said that the CCS pads seem to skip around more than the flat pads. I've used the CCS pads and they do skip a bit more for me but I'm comparing the 6in flat and 4in CCS so its obviously different...

I don't like the CCS pads at all with the PC. I've tried both the 6 in and the 4 in., and I prefer the flat pads. The CCS pads are more difficult to control.

I currently use the LC CCS pads with my UDM and love them. I use the smaller 5, 5.5" pads as the 6.5" pads cause to much unneccesary vibration and are much more difficult to control at mid-high speeds. Although I have noticed that the 6.5" pads I've used inthe past also are more difficult to control than the smaller pads. I also have the smaller 3.5" pads in conjuction w/ a 3.5" backing plates and they are excellent for lamps and tight places.

As stated earlier, I wouldn't waste money just to try these style pads, but would recommend then when it comes time to replace older pads. I've been using a 5" white CCS pad and cleaned frequently with the Universal Pad washer. The pad comes out like new and ready to use.

I concur with SMPrince1, it is basically what your prference is. I have used both and I have not really seen any difference in their performance.

I love the sonus 4" pads.

That being said, I don't buy into the ccs theory. Flat pads work great.

I do use ccs pads for waxing and aio occasionally.
