CCS Pads (Blue)

Does anyone has problems using the CCS Pads (Blue) on Black vehicles? Somebody told me it causes marring. What do marring means? Thanks.

I'd be surprised if anyone said they got marring on even the softest paint with a blue pad. If they did it was probably due to the polish.

Blue provides no cut. Its a jeweling/finish/sealant and wax applicator pad.

have you actually felt the pad? The thing iis SOFT. As long as your pairing up your polishes with the right pad you won't get marring from the blue

Marring refers to marks on the paint. As mentioned, a blue pad is very gentle. It's always possible to mar the paint by not using a buffer correctly, regardless of the pad, but I'm sure that you're capable of holding on to the thing and are able to follow basic directions. Black paint can be very soft and it does show marring well. Before going at it with a buffer, it's a good idea to study the necessary techniques and to choose an appropriate product for the application. I'm positive that folks would be happy to make some recommendations, if they had more info about the project.

i could see marring happening if someone used the blue LC pad tof a polish, the polish probably wouldnt break down because the pad is just too soft, hence why the LC blue pad is only reccomended for applying waxes and sealants... just a thought though.

I have used the blue pad with wolfgang dgps on a black explorer with no issues, also with poorboys ex-p on various vehicles, no problems

What is your machine and technique? For example. using a small blue (like 5-in) pad on a DA like the UDM cranked up to speed 6 with pressure may cause marring. Do you prime the pad prior to touching the paint with some QD?

I use the NXT on the 5.5 " blue pad at speed 3. Since it's just sealant. No, I don't prime the pad because I'm not polishing. Plus, on DA, they don't require priming because they don't burn the paint like a rotary. Thanks for your 2 cent.
