Carwash for a really dirty car

The Whaler Loves Detail City
I'll be doing a detail on a car in the next couple weeks that I think hasn't been washed in the two years my sister-in -law has owned it.Is there any carwash that is recommended for a really dirty car as opposed to a car that is washed weekly? As always, thanks in advance. Rick

Instead of a stronger soap, maybe rinsing with a firm stream from the hose to remove some of the heavier stuff and then washing twice.

Just a thought

Rick,

I would use a touchless carwash to remove the lose stuff. Then, I would wash it twice by hand... with no drying in-between.

The firm stream rinse is part of my usual washing procedure to remove as much dirt as possible before I start rubbing it into the paint with a wash mitt.
Washing twice is also part of my procedure if the vehicle is really crusty. Getting caught on a wet gravel road for instance, would leave the kind of accumulation that I would wash twice.
Light touch, lots of water/soap solution and change the wash water a time or two if it looks necessary.
As far as a particular soap, I really don't think there is a lot of difference in the good name brands. I seem to usually end up with a Meguiar's shampoo.

Spray S&W on each panel for a pre-wash then wash as you normally would, being extra careful not to swirl anything. If you have a pressure washer then you know what to do.

zip-wax car soap is really strong stuff. might wanna consider. that, or just adding an ounce or two of dawn to the mix of car soap. after all, the car probably has no wax on it anyway.

Rabbi,
This should be able to do it

Dawn 5 gal size
According to P&G it has a dilution rate of 1-3 oz for 10 gallons of water :eek :bigscream

With something like that you would get rid of the dirt and some of the paint :lmfao :lmfao

I would just wash as normal. If it hasn't been washed in two years, it probably hasn't been waxed or polished in that timeframe either. I'm sure the dirt will be the least of your problems. :)
